Character: Brad’s Bud

Overall, this does not qualify as a Nic Cage movie to me. I saw him in the background, but he was not a main character and that is a huge disappointment because he is great in these kinds of roles. For instance, his role in Peggy Sue Got Married which he does star in, is in my top ten favorite old-school movies. We will cover that movie in depth when I re-watch it to review it for you lovely folks. He was very quickly in this movie in the line in the gym to get schedules. You can catch a glimpse of him right before glasses kid asks Brad to get him in at American Burger or whatever the hell the name of the burger joint is.

This movie, as a whole, is an absolute testament to its time. The soundtrack and fashion is nostalgia fucking central for you 35s and older. Arcade games and neon lights are everywhere and dear gawd the caaaars!! My heart went still and I shed a silent tear when the ’79 Camaro was totally thrashed. Pardon my sounding like Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn) just then. The history teacher was reminiscent of the tough teacher we all had at some point in high school and you might be able to pick yourself out of the groups represented in the movie. Like the title, this movie happened fast and almost leaves you wanting more until it gives you the story of each character to let you know the answers you require just before the credits.

All in all a great movie, but definitely not a Nic Cage film.

Nic Cage sort of peeks out at you from the shadows in this one, thus I have chosen this Vileplume. Jeez, I really wanted more of him in this one.
